Christmas market at Schallaburg Castle - feel Christmas!

What does Christmas smell like? Where do children's eyes sparkle the most? And where does Advent really feel magical?

From 12 to 14 December 2025, Schallaburg Castle will be transformed into a festive Christmas world for the whole family. Artisans present lovingly crafted unique pieces, atmospheric music fills the historic walls and there is a varied programme full of surprises for children. Experience the special magic of the pre-Christmas period in a unique atmosphere!

Christmas magic at Schallaburg Castle

Schallaburg Castle shines in pre-Christmas splendour from 12 to 14 December 2025. Around 130 artisans from all over Austria will present unique handmade items in the castle and castle gardens - from fine jewellery and ceramics to textile handicrafts, woodwork and blacksmithing. Christmas delicacies, warming punch and a varied supporting programme for the whole family await you in the romantic Advent village in the castle garden.

Festive music, fairy tales and tradition

The varied stage programme ensures a festive atmosphere on all days. Vocal ensembles, brass quartets and horn music echo the sounds of Christmas through the castle. Fairy tales and picture book theatre whisk young and old away into winter stories.

Spectacular shows and hands-on experiences

Special programme items await every day: The fascinating Daidalos fire show lights up the castle garden, while the impressive Perchten processions bring old winter customs to life. Children can let off steam with face painting, pony rides or in the creative craft area. If you are looking for a special Christmas present, you can discover handmade treasures in the unique setting of Schallaburg Castle.
