On 21 September 2025, the Melk farmers' wives invite you to the Schmankerlfest - the meeting place for all those who appreciate regional specialities! Taste savoury and sweet delicacies from Lower Austria and enjoy the special atmosphere of the castle in the golden late summer.

Culinary delights & a feast for the ears
When Schallaburg Castle is filled with the aromas of regional delicacies, the farm women of the Melk district invite you to the traditional Schmankerlfest. Once again, numerous exhibitors bring along their tasty treasures from the Mostviertel: from cider, schnapps and fruit to pumpkin products, game and hemp, Wachau beef, various fair trade products and much more.
Let the Mostviertel melt in your mouth. A wide variety of culinary delights can be sampled on site and taken home with you. Music & dance from the region provide the best entertainment.
