Travelling by car

You can easily reach us from the motorway via the Melk or Loosdorf exits. From there, Schallaburg Castle is well signposted - simply follow the signs to our car park.

Car parking spaces

Sufficient car parking spaces are available.
There are 4 EVN e-charging stations with 22 KW each available in our car park 2.
On event days, additional designated parking spaces are available in car parks 5 and 6. Nevertheless, we advise you to arrive early on event days - or to travel by public transport.

Parking spaces for coaches
Parking space 2 is designated for coaches. Thanks to their own entrance and exit, coaches can continue their journey after their visit without having to make a U-turn.

Travelling on foot or by bike

You can reach Schallaburg Castle on foot from Loosdorf railway station (approx. 1 hour) or from Melk railway station (2.5 hours) on marked hiking trails.

From the Danube cycle path it is approx. 15 minutes to Schallaburg Castle. Secure bicycle racks and free e-charging stations are located directly at the reception centre under the canopy.

Travelling by public transport

You can get to Schallaburg Castle in a climate-friendly way by bus and train.
Take the train to Loosdorf station.
From there, take the regional bus 686 to the Schallaburg car park or to the Anzendorf stop and walk about 10 minutes to Schallaburg.
