Travelling by public transport
- You can get to Schallaburg Castle in a climate-friendly way by bus and train.
- Take the train to Loosdorf station.
- From there, take the regional bus 686 to the Schallaburg car park or to the Anzendorf stop and walk about 10 minutes to Schallaburg.
- Please use www.vor.at for current timetables.

Travelling on foot or by bike
You can reach Schallaburg Castle on foot from Loosdorf railway station (approx. 1 hour) or Melk railway station (2.5 hours) on marked hiking trails.
From the Danube cycle path, it is approx. 15 minutes to Schallaburg Castle. Secure bicycle racks are available directly at the reception centre. E-charging stations for bicycles will also be available from the 2025 season.

Travelling by car
Take the Melk or Loosdorf exit from the motorway and follow the signs to Schallaburg Castle.

Parking spaces for cars
- Sufficient parking spaces are available.
- On event days, additional designated parking spaces are available in parking areas 5 and 6. Nevertheless, we recommend arriving early on event days - or travelling by public transport.
Parking spaces for buses
Parking lot 2 is designated for buses. Thanks to a dedicated entrance and exit, buses can continue their journey after their visit without having to turn around.Parking spaces for bicycles / e-bikes
You can conveniently park your bike directly at the ticket office under the canopy. Here it is also protected against theft, as this parking area is located on the premises and past the entrance. -
Travelling electrically?
- Charge your car or bike during your visit to Schallaburg! There are 4 EVN charging stations with 11 KW each available in our car park 2.
- For bicycles, you will find the charging stations in the bicycle area right next to the ticket office.

Pets are not permitted!
